Mailand kulinarisch / Milano Food Porn

HI!!!

Italien = gutes Essen, oder? Daher komm ich ohne Umschweife und ohne viele Worte  zu meinem kulinarischen Wochenende!!

Italy = good food, right? So without further words, here is my culinary weekend for you!!

Der ein oder andere Cappuccino musste natürlich sein (auch wenn Italiener ja nach Mittag keinen mehr trinken…hab ich mir sagen lassen!!)

Obviously there was some a lot of cappuccino involved (although the italians don’t drink cappuccino in the afternoon, according to what I heard)

Erster Gang meines Buffetfrühstücks im tollen Hotel – Eierspeise, Schwarzaugenbohnen und gegrilltes Gemüse! (Zweiter Gang war dann Joghurt mit Nüssen und Samen und Obst!)

First course of my breakfast in the great hotel – scrambled eggs, black eyed peas and grilled veggies! (Second course was yogurt with nuts, seeds and fruit)

Meeresfrüchtesalat vom Feinsten! (Genossen am Grande Navigli)

One of the best seafood salads known to man! (eaten at grande navigli)

Für Max und mich gehört zu jedem Urlaub ein Bacardi Breezer, ist mittlerweile Tradition! Genossen im Parco Sempione an einem faulen Nachmittag…

A bacardi breezer has become a holiday tradition for us – we enjoyed it in parco sempione on a lazy afternoon…

Ich kann nicht mehr genau sagen wie das heißt, jedenfalls war es Ricotta gefüllt mit Nudeln und Shrimps und sehr sehr lecker!! (Lokal: Fratelli la Bufala)

I can’t tell you the name of this, but it was ricotta filled with pasta and shrimps and really really good! (Eaten at: Fratelli la Bufala)

Highlights Mailand / Milano

Hi!!!

Ich melde mich zurück aus dem sonnigen und heißen Mailand!!! 4 Tage haben wir dort verbracht, zusammen mit Max‘ Mama (ihr haben wir die Reise zum Geburtstag geschenkt) und seinem Bruder (und Samson ;-)). Hier die Highlights:

I’m back from Milano!! We’ve been there for 4 days together with Max‘ mum (it was her birthday present!) and his brother (and Samson). Here are the highlights for you:

Il Duomo

Der Dom ist mit Sicherheit eines der Highlights von Mailand, wenn nicht DAS Highlight schlechthin!! 400 Jahre wurde daran gebaut, und das kann man sehen, er ist einfach atemberaubend schön!

The dome is definitely one of the highlights of Milano, if not THE highlight!! It was build during 400 long years, and that shows in many details, its just breathtaking!

Und er ist nicht nur von außen schön, auch innen gibt es viel zu sehen (nicht alles schön, zum Beispiel einige mumifizierten Leichen von Kardinälen, Bischöfen etc…eher gewöhnungsbedürftig!!)

The inside is just as great as the outside (although not everything, there are the mummified bodies of some popes etc…gross!!)

Was ihr unbedingt machen müsst: auf die Terrazzi, das Dach des Doms steigen!! Man kann entweder zu Fuß gehen (7€ pro Person, 250 Stufen) oder mit dem Lift fahren (12€ pro Person!). Wir sind natürlich zu Fuß gegangen, und oben wird man wirklich für die Anstrengung entschädigt, ist echt toll!!

What you really have to do: go up to the terrazzi, the roof of the dome!! You can either walk the stairs (7€ per person) or go by lift (12€ per person!). We climbed the stairs (obviously ;-)) and the effort was definitely outweighted by the great view!!

Il Bar / Rinascente

Gegenüber vom Dom, direkt neben der Galleria Vittorio Emanuele (der großen Einkaufsgalerie – siehe Foto) ist noch ein Einkaufszentrum, Rinascente. Und oben am Dach gibt es eine tolle Bar (und ein Restaurant) – gemütlich, stylish und mit einem tollen Ausblick auf den Dom und den Domplatz!

Vis-á-vis the dome, directly next to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele (a shopping gallery – picture below) there is a big shopping mall, Rinascente. And there’s a rooftop-bar (and a restaurant) – cozy, stylish with a great view of the dome!

Navigli

Die Navigli sind Kanäle, ähnlich wie in Venedig oder Los Angeles, mit vielen netten Lokalen und Bars. Wir waren sogar 2 Abende dort – einmal haben wir á la carte gegessen, beim zweiten Mal dann so wie wir es beim ersten Mal gesehen hatten: Cocktail Happy Hour mit Buffet! Man zahlt einen bestimmten Betrag (meist 9-10€) und kann sich ein Getränk aus der Karte bestellen (egal welches!) und dazu unbegrenzt am Buffet schlemmen! Die Lokale haben alle sehr nett ausgeschaut, wir waren im „Momo“ am Navigli Grande (hab leider keine Webseite gefunden).

Navigli are canals, like in Venice or Los Angeles, with cute little restaurants and bars. We went there twice, one time to eat á la carte, and the second time to eat like we’ve seen it the first time: Cocktail Happy Hour with buffet!! You pay around 9-10€ and get a drink of your choice and can eat as much as you like from the buffet!! Most of the restaurants and bars looked nice, we went to „Momo“ at Navigli Grande (I didn’t find a website)

Picknick im Park / Picnic at the park

Es gibt ein paar nette Parks in Mailand – zum Beispiel den Parco Publicco oder den Parco Sempione (beim Castello). In den Parks gibt es teilweise auch Lokale, vor allem aber immer mobile Wägen die Getränke und Eis verkaufen!

There are some great parks in Milano – for example the parco publicco or the parco sempione (next to the castello). In the parks there are some bars and restaurants, but also small booths where you can buy snacks and drinks!

Hotel Melia Milano

Wir haben über Binoli ein super Angebot erwischt und weil es ein Geschenk war ein 5 Stern Hotel genommen…das war eine gute Wahl, das Hotel liegt sehr gut an einer U-Bahn Station (die direkt zum Dom fährt). Das es wunderschön ist und die Zimmer toll versteht sich von selbst bei 5 Sternen, das Frühstücksbuffet war ein Traum, und der Fitnessraum, ich sags euch, alles was das Herz begehrt!!

We got a great offer on Binoli, and as it was a present we booked a 5 star hotel. It was great, next to a metro station (the metro line that goes to the Duomo, directly), and the rooms were very nice too! The breakfast buffet was huge and the gym, I tell you, everything a girl dreams of 😉

So, das waren mal die Highlights!! Ich werd noch einen separaten Post mit den kulinarischen Köstlichkeiten dranhängen, das wird sonst heute zu lange 😉 Schönen Abend!
